David Mellor started out as a lawer, became an MP in 1979 and became a QC in 1987.

His rapid rise suddenly took  a downward slide as he was caught in a media anti sleaze war on John Majors Goverment.

He consequently worked in broadcating and Journalism and quicly became a football fan favourite as well as seroius comentator.

He now runs his own  business consultancy alongside his  broadcasting and journalism. In addition he rather bizarrly has returned to politics with Tony Blairs appoint of him as Chairman of the Government's Task Force on Football.
