Julian Richer opened his first shop at the age of 19, and after a shakey start, now owns several businesses including "Richer Sounds" the UK’s biggest hi-fi retailer, named in the Guiness book  record for the highest sales per square foot of any retail outlet in the world.

As well as Richer Sounds his business interests cover manufacturing,  franchising , the Tecno and Fox Talbot  photographic chain, a retail recruitment agency, a small commercial property portfolio and an award winning retaurant

His book "The Richer Way" was the best selling business book when it was published in 1995 and he was famoulsy brought in by Archie Norman to help revitalise Asda.

As well as speaking he now spends more time on his philanthropic interests, which include free consultancy work for some of the UK’s largest charities, a Foundation which helped 250 good causes last year, Duchy Originals (the Prince of Wales’ charitable trading company) and he is also one of the eighty  official "Ambassadors of Youth".

 Richer Consulting advises some of the country’s largest organisations at chief executive level on cultural change management, staff motivation, customer service, , staff communications and staff and customer suggestion schemes.

He famously lends his Rolls Royce to a shopworker each week.

He also writes a regular column for "Q" magazine.
